SCVO has responded to the Scottish Government's consultation on the future for charity appeals, following Ministers' decision to abolish the Scottish Charity Appeals Panel (SCAP). We express regret that the decision was taken before a suitable alternative route was identified; we affirm the fundamental importance of an accessible and affordable appeal mechanism against certain OSCR decisions; and we suggest maintaining a pared down SCAP pending establishment of a Scottish Tribunal Service.
