The VIEW debate continues here. VIEW consists of eight high-quality publications produced over 2005 to 2007. The format of VIEW is now evolving and we will shortly be introducing a new platform to carry forward civil society insights into the future of Scotland.

Contributing to VIEW
You can contribute to VIEW in two ways: (1) by submitting an article (please see below) or (2) by sending us short comments, reacting to previous articles, feedback or thoughts for discussion and publication.
Please look through the issues (below) for information on the focus of each issue. We would be very grateful to hear of your interest and discuss a potential article from you. Please contact Ruchir Shah, editor, on 0131 474 6158 or email

- Focus - The journal is designed to encourage and inspire debate on the future of Scotland from a civil society perspective. Each edition has a more specific focus. Please see below for more information on the foci for future editions.
- Length - We would ask you to contribute an article of no more than 1500 words. If you feel a shorter or longer article may be more appropriate, we would be happy to discuss and accommodate this with you.
- Style - In previous issues of VIEW, contributors have offered pieces that ranged in presentation style from ‘field notes’ to ‘narratives’ to more ‘academic styled articles’.
- Editing - SCVO reserves the right to edit articles for length, clarity and impact. If the editing is likely to be substantial in any way, we will consult with you.
- Deadlines - As VIEW is a print publication, we need to operate a strict deadline for articles, in order to ensure sufficient time for editing, design and publication. We have provided information on the deadlines for forthcoming issues below.
