Media Release: Charity Conference 30th March Edinburgh -10 Mar 10

Charity conference set to get professionals and charities working together

The Signet Library in Edinburgh plays host to a Charity Conference on the 30th of March. The conference, “Working together: collaboration, mergers, partnerships and more”, aims to bring together people working in the professions with charities.

The conference is a joint venture between the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations and the WS Society. As well as looking at how the professions and charities work together, the conference will take forward work on charity law.

Lucy McTernan, Deputy Chief Executive of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations and co-chair of the event said:

“Charities and voluntary organisations are increasingly focusing on new ways of working, identifying new sources of funding and adopting new business models. Working together with the professions and the business community can help increase the sector’s stability.

“If you’re a professional adviser with charity sector clients, a representative from the charity sector or a business involved in CSR, a social enterprise, policy makers or regulators, I’d urge you to make sure you don’t miss this key event.”

Fellow co-chair Alastair Keatinge, Partner and Head of Charities, Lindsays commented:

“This is an important time to be aware of changing practices, challenges and opportunities in the charity sector. We have brought together many of the leading voices and innovative thinkers to share their vision and experiences. This is a unique and special event that will help to build and strengthen relationships within the sector”
