How is the economic crisis affecting your organisation?

While much of the focus of the current financial crisis has been on the effects on banks and mortgages, many Scottish charities and voluntary organisations also face potentially severe problems.
In order to fully asses the extent of the problems we face here in Scotland we need your help.
  • Do you have any accounts with Icelandic Banks? If you do, how much money is in the accounts?
  • Have your levels of reserves or investment fallen significantly due to the financial crisis? If so, what kind of losses have you seen?
  • Have you been affected by the financial crisis in other ways - i.e. loss of sponsorship or private sector support?
  • Have you any other issues that we need to be aware of?

Please contact us at sarah.beattie-smith@scvo.org.uk to let us know your situation.

Be A Trustee Logo

SCVO has launched its Trustee Database on its Governance Project Website.  The 'Be A Trustee' channel of the website was made possible thanks to the kind generosity of MacRoberts Solicitors, a firm which specialises in corporate and commercial law and offers advice on a wide range of legal areas, including charity law.  The Be a Trustee’ Channel is the place where you can find out everything you need to know about being a trustee of a charity or voluntary organisation.

E-Learning:
SCVO runs a number of programmes and courses through E-Learning and several are free to users of the SCVO website.  Courses currently on offer cover Branding, Coaching, Governance, Project Management and Web Accessibility.
